World Hypertension Day

Around the world, Hypertension Day is celebrated today, May 17th. The goal is to raise awareness about the importance of preventing and controlling high blood pressure, a common and potentially dangerous condition.

The causes of high blood pressure include genetic factors, a diet high in sodium, lack of physical activity, obesity, excessive alcohol consumption, and smoking.

The risks associated with hypertension include damage to blood vessels, increasing the risk of heart attack, stroke, kidney failure, and other serious health problems.

It is essential to regularly monitor blood pressure, adopt a healthy lifestyle, such as a balanced diet and regular exercise, and follow medical advice to prevent and control high blood pressure.

So, are you monitoring your blood pressure?
