Red September is an initiative that aims to raise awareness about the importance of heart health and the prevention of cardiovascular diseases.
The month chosen for the campaign is due to World Heart Day, celebrated on September 29th, an initiative established in 2000 by the World Heart Federation with the support of the United Nations.
In most situations, heart disease usually results from risk factors related to patients' lifestyles. Based on research, approximately 80% of heart diseases can be prevented by following healthy measures such as not smoking, engaging in physical activity, having a balanced diet,
avoiding alcohol consumption, minimizing stress, and treating comorbidities.
Furthermore, cardiac check-ups play a crucial role in preventing or reducing heart problems, contributing to a healthier and longer life.
